Roll up your Sleeves- its Cookie Baking Time!

The always popular Cookie Baking for Kids will return to Lismore on Saturday 16th April as part of the Waterford Festival of Food. There will be two baking sessions; the first from 10.00-11.00am and the second from 11.00am-12.00pm. The stirring, sifting and tasting will all take place in the kitchens of Blackwater Community School, with the school’s kind permission, and are facilitated by Catherine Toomey. Too many cooks spoil the broth so places are strictly limited and booking is essential. Tickets cost a crumby €5.00 and are available now from Lismore Heritage Centre on 058-54975. Lots of other great events are planned for Lismore for the Festival weekend 15th-17th April. On Saturday 16th there will be a special Farmers Market with Gala Day events, fun with Macra and music in the Millennium Park. Special festival menus will be offered by Saffron, Eamonn’s Place, Foley’s On The Mall The Castle Lodge and Lismore House Hotel, talks by local food producers Eamonn Lonergan of Knockanore Cheese and Thomas Baldwin of Baldwins Ice Cream, with a Festival Dessert Plate at The Summerhouse for the sweet toothed. O’Brien Chop House will host a talk on ‘The Art of Salmon Fishing’ on Friday 15th. Tickets cost €20 and include a demonstration by chef, Eddie Baguio. Places limited please call 058 53810 to book.
