Love Story in Lismore

Bright and early Saturday morning the Heritage Centre telephone began to ring. On duty, Mary answered to find a rather anxious young gentleman on the line. As Mary advised him on his queries about local beauty spots, scenic areas and walks the two began to chat. Eventually the caller confessed the cause of his nerves: he planned to propose that very afternoon and he needed the perfect location.
.
In the fairytale shadow of Lismore Castle his proposal was happily accepted. With his betrothed in tow our chivalrous caller visited the Heritage Centre to thank our "Cupid" for helping to arrange their special moment.
.
Congratulations to Stephen and Anna on their engagement!

Lismore Choir Christmas Concert

Lismore Choir presented A Wonderful Selection of Christmas Music on 12th, 13th and 14th December. For the twenty-sixth year the annual concert was held in the Banqueting Hall of Lismore Castle.
.

Under the able musical direction of Carmel O'Shea and accompanied by Colin Nicholls the choir performed popular favourites alongside lesser known melodies. The carolers were joined by soloists Helen Hassett, soprano and Stephen Nicholls on French Horn. Both performers proved a great addition to the programme.
.
Heritage Centre staff were lucky enough to attend the final concert and found it a beautiful way to herald the arrival of the festive season!
.
The choir's next major recital will come in the spring when they will be joined by a Finnish choir. Life in Lismore will bring you details as they become available.
